On Tuesday, April 13th at 7:00pm EST our guest speakers will be Barbara Lindberg & Carol Buckhout  of the Cazenovia College.  Together they will be covering "Industry & College Connections."  Included in this discussion will be internships, how to source new graduates looking for positions, options for those already in the industry to enhance their own education/experiences and more.

Barbara Lindberg became the Cazenovia College Equine Studies Program Director in the fall of 2003 following a position as assistant professor of Equine Studies at Johnson and Wales University, where she was for three years prior to that. While at Johnson and Wales, she was also Director of Riding. From 1996-2000, Lindberg was the executive director of English riding and assistant professor of Equine Studies at the University of Findlay, and from 1988-1996 was an Equine Science instructor and assistant professor at the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville. Prior to her career in academia, she held training, teaching and management positions at hunter, dressage and eventing facilities.

As a faculty member in the Equine Business Management program at Cazenovia College, Carol Buckhout teaches several courses related to the equine sciences and pleasure driving. She also co-teaches the equine junior and senior seminar courses and she serves as the faculty coordinator for students pursuing their equine internship experiences. Over the years, she has assisted hundreds of students in the research, application process and completion of both elective and required management internships. In many cases, the students’  experiences have led to jobs in- or related to- their actual internship experiences. Carol is a member of several professional organizations, including the Equine Science Society, the USEF and the USSHBA. She serves as the board president of the Lorenzo Driving Competition, an annual pleasure driving competition and she enjoys riding, driving and showing her Morgan gelding.

The USSHBA webinar series is offered FREE to current USSHBA members.  Non-members may also attend after registering and paying a $35 fee.  Members of Affiliate Groups receive a 50% discount (contact your registry for the discount code).  Questions are encouraged ahead of time and should be submitted by email.  There will be a Q&A period at the conclusion of the presentation for additional questions.
